We do not add expensive extras like Adminstration fees, stamp duty or GST on to our rates they are all included. We supply baby seats, boosters seats and maps. We are strategically located in Surfers Paradise, the heart of the Gold Coast and we service both Gold Coast Airport at Coolangatta and Brisbane Airports with a simplified on Airport meet and greet and pick up service.  We aim to take the hassle out of your travelling needs.

Select Rent-a-Car AU Rental Terms for travel between 01-Jan-2007 and 31-Dec-2009

Upon confirmation of your booking a non-refundable deposit will be taken from your credit card to secure your nominated vehicle. In addition to this, the following terms and conditions apply:

Rates
Our Rates includes standard loss or Damage Cover, free local pick up, 300 free km per day or as selected, GST, registration recovery fees and free use maps and security pro locks.  Petrol is the responsibility of the hirer. The rates quoted on the quoting system are guaranteed.

Loss & Damage Cover
Loss or Damage cover is included in our rates subject to the conditions of hire. There is a Collision Damage Liability in the event of Loss or damage or theft as shown in table below. You can reduce this Liability by payment of the daily Waiver fee shown in the table according to your age and the vehicle type selected. If you elect to pay the Waiver fee your liability amount will be reduced to the amount shown. Single vehicle accidents/incidents conditions apply.

Bond/Deposit/Payment of Charges
A security deposit is required at the time of rental to cover the Waiver Fee liability. If you are using a credit card the Waiver Fee liability is pre-authorized at time of rental and reversed on return subject to return of the vehicle in an undamaged condition and final inspection. The Cardholder must be present at time of rental. We accept Visa, Bankcard & MasterCard. If paying debit card, cash or travellers cheques we require an amount equal to the Waiver Fee Liability paid at the time of rental which is refunded on return of vehicle in undamaged condition. We also require the rental payment to be paid in advance on collection of vehicle. Cash hirers subject to approved application.

Kilometres
300 free Km per day are provided with all our vehicles and are accumulative over the duration of the rental. Excess km are charged at between $0.20 and $0.30 cents per km depending on the vehicle.

Drivers License
All hirers must have a full current drivers license which may be from any state in Australian, Overseas domestic or International. 

Maximum/Minimum Age

Minimum age for rental is 21 years, the maximum is 75 years. Drivers aged between 21-25 are not permitted to drive some categories of vehicles. See chart  above for details.

Hotel & Airport Deliveries
Pick up from your Hotel, Motel. Residential or Business address is provided free within a 15 km radius from our premises in Surfers Paradise and is subject to a minimum rental period of 2 days.

Gold Coast Airport Delivery
We can meet and greet you at the Gold Coast / Coolangatta Airport Terminal 24 hours a day.  A small pick up and drop off fee of $25.00 ($25.00 x 2 for pick up and drop off)  applies to all rentals from / to this location. This cost should be itemised in your cost breakdown.

Brisbane Airport Delivery
We can meet and greet you at the Brisbane Domestive and Brisbane International Airport Terminals24 hours a day.  A small pick up and drop off fee of $60.00 applies to all rentals from / to this location. ($60.00 x 2 for pick ups and drop offs ). This cost should be itemised in your cost breakdown. Further details on Pick ups and drop offs can be found in the Location information and will be reconfirmed with you by Select Rent A Car.

Area of Use
All vehicles to be used within a 250 km radius. Rentals outside this area can be organized but must be approved prior to the rental and a surcharge may apply. All vehicles are for on road use only.

Breakdown Service
24 hour roadside assistance is provided free of charge.

Baby/Booster Seats
A good selection of approved baby seats, baby capsules and boosters available for children of all ages. An extr daily charge applies which is detailed at the time of booking.

Cancellation Policy
The initial deposit paid is non-refundable. In addition to forfeiting your deposit, the following charges also apply:
No further cancellation fee is applicable provided you give us no less than 10 days notice prior to your arrival.
If you cancel between 4 - 9 days you will be liable for a 2 day rental fee.
If you cancel within 4 days of your arrival you will be liable for a 5 day rental fee.
If you fail to arrive or collect the vehicle at the Airport you will be liable for a 5 day rental fee plus the applicable airport collection fee.

Travel insurance
We strongly recommend that clients ensure they take out the highest level of travel insurance. In many cases this will cover any losses incurred if you are forced to cancel your booking.

Terms of booking on this website

Information disclaimer
The rates on this website are often heavily discounted. This is due to our negotiated rates and bulk buying power. On very rare occasions, a rate may be displayed incorrectly due to our, or a vehicle supplier's error. In such a case, if you book with us at a quoted rate that is incorrect, we will notify you of any price change and give you the option to proceed or cancel. We make every effort to keep information on our site up to date, but we cannot guarantee this website is free of errors or omissions and retain the right to update or change the information published at any time.

Liability
To the extent permitted by law we/the owners of this website will not be liable to you or to any third party (whether in contract, tort, or otherwise) for any direct, indirect or consequential loss or damage (including but not limited to any accident, injury, delay or loss of enjoyment) arising out of your reliance upon information contained on this website, including but not limited to your use (or inability to use) any products or services described or procured through this website.

When you pick up your vehicle, you will be required to sign a rental agreement with the supplier of the vehicle. Your rental and use of the vehicle will be governed by the terms of the rental agreement and any other documentation or information provided to you by the supplier at the time you pick up your vehicle. The rental agreement is between you and the supplier and we will not be liable to you or to any third party in relation to the terms of the supplier’s rental agreement or any other documentation provided to you by the supplier at the time of pick up.

While we will make reasonable efforts to ensure we are representing only reputable suppliers, we make no warranty about the fitness or suitability of any third party (supplier) product or service and will not accept responsibility for the quality or fitness of any vehicle. We welcome feedback from our customers on their experience with our suppliers. We may, at our discretion, provide you with reasonable assistance in resolving any dispute you may have with a supplier.

Our total liability to you in relation to your use of this website and the information contained on this website will not exceed the dollar amount of the deposit we have received from you in relation to your booking/rental. Refunds will not be made for bookings cancelled due to inclement weather. Again, we strongly recommend that you take out travel insurance. Your use of this website is governed by the laws of New Zealand and the jurisdiction of the New Zealand courts.

Booking information
To make a booking you must complete our booking form which is easy to follow and secured with the latest encryption technology. Once we receive your form, we will, subject to availability, confirm your booking by emailing you a confirmation voucher and invoice. The deposit required to secure your vehicle (as shown on the secure booking page) will only be processed on your credit card when your booking is confirmed. Please note that a 1.75% credit card charge will be added when your payment is processed.

A booking is confirmed when you have been emailed a confirmation voucher and at this stage the deposit is processed on your card and becomes non-refundable and any cancellation fees stated in the supplier's terms apply. Upon receipt of your confirmation, please check your details carefully and notify us immediately if there are any incorrect details, as it may not be possible to make changes at a later date.

If you are booking via phone, please make sure you have read the terms and conditions of the vehicle you wish to rent first. Our reservations consultant will ask you if you have read the terms and agree to them before proceeding. The onus is always on the renter to ensure they make themselves fully aware of the terms displayed on our website.

Information disclosure
In booking on this website you acknowledge that we disclose your information to your selected Supplier in order to provide the requested rental services.

Amendments
Please note that some suppliers treat an amendment as a new booking and apply the rate current at the time the amendment is made to recalculate the entire booking amount (not just the days changed). If the rental period is increased, an additional deposit may be required. If the rental period is shortened which results in a reduction of the rental charges, the deposit amount will remain unchanged, and the difference between the original and revised deposit is forfeited (it cannot be used towards remaining rental charges). To request a change to a confirmed booking, please use the alterations request link on your confirmation. Any alterations are subject to availability and the approval of the supplier. In addition to the alteration policy of the supplier stated in their terms, the following charges will apply:
Car rental alterations (all charges stated in local currency):
To change dates or times that result in a recalculation of rental rates, or to change vehicles or locations: 25.00
To add or remove extras to/from a confirmed booking: 10.00
Motorhome rental alterations (all charges stated in local currency):
To change dates or times that result in a recalculation of rental rates, or to change vehicles or locations: 75.00
To add or remove extras to/from confirmed booking: 20.00
The alteration fee will not be charged if your alteration request is not possible.

Vehicle Capacity and fitness to drive
Under no circumstances are you permitted to carry more passengers than the vehicle you rent is legally registered to carry, and if you do your insurance may be invalidated. The number of seatbelts (and passengers) is indicated next to each vehicle on this website. Luggage capacity where shown is an indication only and we will not be responsible should you be unable to fit your entire luggage into a vehicle. It is your responsibility to choose a journey that is within your capabilities. A vehicle supplier can refuse to rent a vehicle to any person who is in their opinion unfit to drive or does not meet eligibility requirements. In such circumstances we will have no further liability to you.

Brisbane Domestic Airport depot

Brisbane Domestic Airport is a serviced non depot location.

We offer a 24 hour Meet and Greet Service at Brisbane Domestic Airport. Please ensure you give us your flight number and arrival time as you are placing your booking

A representative will meet and greet you at the Brisbane Domestic Terminal. Please call us on our free phone once you collect your baggage.

Our representative will advise you where to meet us and your vehicle at the airport once we have been called. We will be 10 - 15 minutes away once we receive your phone call, if we are not there already waiting for your flight.

Drop offs
For Brisbane Domestic Terminal Drop offs, the vehicle is to be returned to the short term public car park in rows J, K or L. Simple!

Brisbane International Airport depot

Brisbane International Airport is a serviced non depot location.

Office Hours
Pick ups 24 hours a day 7 days a week.
Once you have cleared customs and are ready for your vehicle, please call our free phone number from any public phone. Then Please meet our representative on the ground level at the bottom of the escalators by the sliding doors.

Drop offs
The vehicle is to be returned to the off airport lincesed car rental company carpark which is only 200 meters from the main terminals. Select Rent A Car will supply a map and further details after your booking is confirmed.

Coolangatta Airport depot

Coolangatta Airport is a serviced non depot location.

Office Hours
We offer 24 hour pick up service at Gold Coast/Coolangatta Airport
Please make sure that you have given us your flight number and arrival time while booking. International mobile phone numbers are also very valuable please give those to us as well
We do not have a desk in the terminal however we do meet and greet in the car parking area in our dedicated parking bays numbered 1 through to 6 where a rental sales agent will meet and greet you. The parking bays are directly opposite the Qantas and Jet Star terminal in the car rental pick up area.

Drop off For Coolangatta / Gold Coast Airport
Drop your vehicle off to the same car parking bays as you picked up from and place your keys in the drop box provided.
